DPS Workshop: Girls in STEM: Digital Movie Maker (Grades 6-8)

for Grades 6-8

Sessions begin January 21st from 10-2 and will be every Saturday ending February 25th. The End of Series Celebration will be on the 25th from 1-2pm. This program will be sold as a series with each week focusing on a different STEM topic. The topics are as followed:

 

Week 1 - Engineering- Students will be presented with a challenge to engineer a solution to a real-world scenario.

Week 2 - Circuitry & Design- Students will learn basics of circuitry and how it can be used to create unique, wearable art.

Week 3 - Space- Students will learn about basic rocket propulsion using balloons, as well as learning about constellations found in our night sky.

Week 4 - Programming- Students will learn the basics of programming, including navigating challenges using a robot.

Week 5 - Digital Fabrication- Students will learn about digital fabrication and get hands on experience with 3D Pens.

Week 6 - Chemistry- Students will learn about acids and bases visually using colors and the pH scale.
